As the first and only national governing body for collegiate club swimming, the American Swimming Association helped grow collegiate club swimming by supporting the creation of over 25 new collegiate club swimming teams across the country, many of which would not have been allowed by their own universities without the support of ASA's national governing body.

ASA U. hosted six annual National Championships as well as Regionals and regular season meets, giving college students, faculty, staff, and alumni competitions that were fun, exciting, innovative, and fostered the highest standards of performance and integrity.

Partnership with the CSCAA

The College Swimming Coaches Association of America and ASA U. worked together to expand college swimming at all levels, to promote the sport of swimming, and to develop future leaders in the swimming community.

ASA U. facilitated the first transition of a coach directly from heading a collegiate club team to heading a collegiate varsity team.

From their website:
"Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the oldest organization of college coaches in America -is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming at the collegiate level." –CSCAA Mission Statement.
